How it started
Martin was born in Ottawa in 2008 and moved to Korea when he was two. His father used to be in a band, and he is the one who put a piece of music software on the family computer. That is the whole origin story, and we wrote about what that software was and how he taught himself on it.
He has the longest training period of the five, and even before debut he was known among the other trainees for being unreasonably talented. By the time CORTIS debuted he already had writing, composing and producing credits for ILLIT, TXT, LE SSERAFIM and ENHYPEN.
Who he actually is
He is deep in the punk rock scene and he is a serious fashion person, to the point where he would rather go hungry than not buy the clothes. As a leader he is good at it, but the thing people miss is that he is soft. Seonghyeon says he is the loudest one in the group, which tracks.
His role model is BTS’ RM. RM is the reason he joined BIGHIT at all, and the first concert he ever went to was BTS.
